Our Casavant Organ

Welcome to a page dedicated to the glory of our Casavant organ!

Our organist Mervyn Games grew up in the north-east of England and studied music at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and the University of Glasgow, where he graduated in 1971. Further studies took him to Siena and Rome, Italy, for lessons with Fernando Germani, Organist to the Vatican.

Emigrating to Canada in 1975, Mr. Games held positions at Ridley College, St Catharines; St James’ Cathedral, Toronto; St Paul’s Cathedral, London; the University of Western Ontario; All Saints’ Cathedral, Halifax; and Knox Presbyterian Church, Ottawa. He has been organist at First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Ottawa, since 2012; and chapel organist of Ashbury College since 1996.

A Fellow of the Royal College of Organists, London, and an Associate of the Royal College of Music, he has a number of broadcasts and recordings to his credit and has played recitals across Canada, in the United States and in Europe. He is a respected choral director and a highly regarded organ, piano and theory teacher.
